Terms and Conditions of Sale



General

The payment of a deposit/placing of an order as a result of this quotation is a full acceptance of the terms and conditions and specifications stated herein.
Once an order has been placed into production, any variations by the client must be made in writing and will result in additional charges.
All effort will be made to deliver and install goods and complete this contract in the estimated time. However, the company cannot be held responsible for delays due to circumstances beyond its control.

Cancellation

if the client cancels this order once production has started, the client will forfeit their full deposit, and will be charged for labour and materials used.

The client acknowledges that variations of colours and shades can occur in the manufacture of goods. While we take every care to obtain the best results, we cannot take any responsibility for variations in colours of wood structure. If your walls are being repainted and require a wall colour to match your shutters, we strongly recommend having your painting contractor match the shutter colour after installation.

The client acknowledges that Cosmopolitan Shutters & Blinds Sales Consultants are not qualified colour consultants – any recommendations are their opinions and the customer takes responsibility for choice of product and colour.
The client is to make access available for the installation works between 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday or as otherwise agreed.

Acceptable imperfections on completion of installation – we deem it acceptable if any imperfections can be noticed with the naked eye in natural light at a distance of over 1 metre.

Goods are unable to be held in storage. If the goods are unable to be fitted, then delivery to site will be required and payment made (except fitting fee).

IMPORTANT – READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER

It is the client’s responsibility to check that the goods set out on this quotation are correct before placing the order. Only goods itemised on your quotation will be supplied. Any additional products required by the client, not listed on this quotation must be paid for by the client. The client is advised to check that colour, blade size, controls and panel configurations are correct. The client must also check to make sure we have not missed any windows.

We take absolutely no responsibility for client’s windows, doors, walls, floors or building being out of square. Shutter panels are made square and may result in variations to the gap tolerances. The client must take this into consideration before ordering. It is the client’s responsibility to remove existing window coverings, if not removed by time of installation a removal fee will be charged.


Placing an Order

A 40% deposit is required to place an order. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Cheques, Money Orders, Cash or Direct Deposit.

All quotes are valid for 30 days and are subject to price checking and additions by our office.
All prices quoted are GST inclusive.

We do not accept Direct Deposit for final payment of installation unless the payment is received 48 hours prior to install.

Terms of Payment

On completion of installation, final payment to the Installer is required.
In the event of non-payment the client will be liable for any legal costs incurred by Cosmopolitan Shutters & Blinds.
All goods remain the property of Cosmopolitan Shutters & Blinds and ownership of goods will not be passed onto client until payment is made in full.

If the customer is not ready for delivery/installation between the 6-8 weeks from date of order, Cosmopolitan Shutters will require a progress payment up to the value of the purchase price or as otherwise agreed on.


Product Installation

Clients are required to provide suitable access and to remove any obstructions which could interfere with installation or valuables which could be damaged.

It is the client’s responsibility to remove any existing window furnishings unless agreed with Sales Consultant and stated on client’s order.

Cosmopolitan Shutters & Blinds will not be held responsible for any damage that may occur at, or after installation of a product that requires fixing into materials, including but not limited to; tiles, carpet, timber flooring or laminated bench tops.
The customer accepts the following specifications

Shutters

All shutters are manufactured to a strick engineer’s specification. Under no circumstance can these specifications be changed or altered by the client. Note that Mid Rail heights indicated are only approximate. Top & Bottom Rails will vary in size depending on the panel size and the amount of blades fitted into a panel will be the maximum amount. We recommend a visit to our showroom to ensure your understanding of the products.


Warranty

Our Warranty – Subject to the conditions of this warranty, Cosmopolitan Shutters & Blinds Pty Ltd, warrant our products to be free from defects in design, material and workmanship at the time of installation, for a period of:
Aluminium Shutters – 5 years on panel Venetians and Rollers – 1 year
Basswood Shutters – 3 year on panel Tracking, hardware, fittings fixtures and fastenings – 2 years
Thermoshield Shutters – Lifetime on panel

This is a limited warranty, and the obligation of the manufacture is solely limited to repairs and replacement of any faulty components, provided the goods are maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and guidelines – see our Website for more information.

This warranty DOES NOT cover any failure of the product or fixtures, due to normal wear and tear, storm or wind damage, customer misuse, damage or neglect – Due to water or salt air – see Website for customer care and maintenance.

This limited warranty extends only to the original purchaser, and is non-transferrable.
Warranty: This warranty is only valid provided that balance of payment is received on installation of goods.
